The Situation

Punched Coffee had been inactive on social media from March 23 to June 7—a gap of nearly 11 weeks.

For a growing consumer brand, inactivity creates more than an empty content calendar. It interrupts the repeated exposure that keeps a brand familiar, relevant, and easy to recall.

Customers may still know the business exists, but they no longer receive reminders to visit, try something new, share the brand, or bring someone with them. New customers also have fewer opportunities to discover the brand through their feeds.

By the time Blue Salmon Solutions took over on June 8, the immediate task was clear:

Reactivate Punched Coffee’s social presence and rebuild its audience momentum.

But simply resuming publication would not be enough.

The account needed a content system that could consistently earn attention, communicate the brand’s personality, support its products and collaborations, and give people a reason to share Punched with others.

The Challenge

Punched already had strong visual assets, distinctive products, and an inherently memorable name. The challenge was translating those advantages into a consistent social presence.

Blue Salmon needed to solve four problems:

1. Restore consistency after prolonged inactivity

The account needed to be reactivated without making the return feel forced or purely promotional.

2. Rebuild relevance with existing followers

After nearly three months of silence, Punched had to re-enter its audience’s everyday awareness.

3. Reach people beyond the existing community

Reactivation could not depend solely on current followers. The content needed to travel through shares, reposts, collaborations, and Instagram discovery.

4. Turn product content into social content

Coffee and food photography can create appetite, but attractive visuals alone do not always give people a reason to interact. Each post needed a stronger social idea: something relatable, useful, timely, or worth sharing with someone else.

The Strategic Shift

Blue Salmon stopped treating the account as a digital menu.

Instead of publishing a continuous stream of product photos and announcements, we approached Punched Coffee’s Instagram as a platform for brand and audience building.

Products remained central, but they were placed inside ideas people could recognize themselves in.

The resulting content mix included:

  • Relatable coffee-culture moments
  • Product and menu storytelling
  • Freshness and quality signals
  • Timely offers and promotions
  • Community events and collaborations
  • Brand and operational updates
  • Social concepts designed around sharing behavior

The objective was to create multiple reasons for people to notice, interact with, and return to the account.

Building a Publishing Rhythm

The first layer of the reactivation was consistency.

Blue Salmon rebuilt the account’s publishing rhythm across feed posts, carousels, Reels, and Stories. Each format was used based on what the idea needed, rather than forcing every message into short-form video.

Stories helped maintain day-to-day visibility. Reels introduced movement and personality. Feed posts and carousels gave Punched more room for product storytelling, relatable concepts, announcements, and shareable creative.

This mix of formats allowed the account to stay present without making every post feel identical.

It also yielded an important performance insight:

During the reporting period, feed posts generated approximately:

  • 42K interactions
  • 1.7K reposts

Approximately 92% of all recorded interactions came from feed posts.

The account did not regain momentum by chasing video views alone. It grew by developing static and carousel concepts that people actively wanted to pass along.

Designing Content for Sharing

One of the clearest examples was the “Send this to your twin” post.

The creative paired two drinks with a simple, immediately understandable social prompt. Instead of asking audiences to admire the products, it invited them to think of another person.

That shift turned a product post into a social interaction.

The post generated:

  • 43.4K views
  • 12.7K likes
  • 12.7K shares
  • 1.3K reposts
  • 25 attributed follows

Its performance demonstrated a central principle behind the reactivation strategy: people are more likely to distribute branded content when it helps them communicate something to someone else.

Making Product Proof More Engaging

The reactivation also needed to communicate tangible reasons to choose Punched.

A carousel highlighting the freshness of the brand’s food used the message:

“We make it fresh. You get it hot.”

Rather than relying on generic food photography, the post connected the preparation process to a clear customer benefit.

It generated:

  • 40.7K views
  • 18.7K unique viewers
  • 1.2K shares
  • 36 attributed follows

The post proved that practical product information could still perform as well as engaging social content when presented through a concise, benefit-led idea.

Another product post built around “We don’t make the rules” generated:

  • 57.1K views
  • 1.1K likes
  • 2.7K shares
  • 59 reposts
  • 47 attributed follows

Together, these posts showed that Punched did not have to choose between communicating its products and building engagement. Strong creative framing allowed the brand to do both.

Reaching Beyond the Existing Audience

Across the 90-day reporting period, Punched Coffee generated 857,138 total Instagram views from 136,915 unique viewers.

That equates to approximately 6.3 views per unique viewer—indicating that the account was generating repeated exposure rather than relying on a single isolated spike.

More importantly, 57.7% of all views came from non-followers.

This meant the majority of visibility came from outside the account’s existing follower base.

The content was not merely re-engaging people who already knew Punched. It was reaching new audiences through discovery, sharing, reposting, and collaborations.

For a reactivated account, this was a critical shift. Punched had moved from being silent to becoming discoverable again.

Turning Attention Into Audience Growth

Reach alone would not have been enough. The renewed attention also needs to translate into a larger owned audience.

Over the reporting period, the account grew to 4,654 followers, representing:

  • 656 net new followers
  • 16.4% follower growth

Individual posts also demonstrated that audiences were not simply consuming the content and scrolling away.

The “We don’t make the rules” post generated 47 attributed follows. The freshness carousel produced another 36, while “Send this to your twin” generated 25.

These results showed that strong individual ideas could contribute directly to sustained audience growth.

The follower activity graph also showed an increase in daily follows toward the latter portion of the reporting window, suggesting that momentum strengthened as the account became more consistently active.

Moving Audiences Closer to Action

The reactivation also brought people beyond the feed.

Punched Coffee recorded:

  • 19,439 profile visits
  • 862 bio-link taps

Approximately 4.4% of profile visits resulted in a bio-link tap.

These actions represent a deeper level of interest than passive content consumption. People were intentionally visiting the profile and taking another step toward the brand’s linked destinations.

This helped turn Instagram from a publishing channel into a pathway for further brand discovery and potential customer action.

Rebuilding a Commercially Relevant Audience

By the end of the reporting period, Punched Coffee’s Instagram audience was concentrated within a commercially valuable consumer demographic:

  • 58.5% were ages 25–34
  • 25% were ages 35–44
  • 83.5% were therefore between the ages of 25 and 44
  • 54.9% were women
  • 45.1% were men
  • 88.8% were based in the Philippines

The relatively balanced gender distribution also reflected the brand’s broad appeal, reaching a wider group of working-age Filipino consumers.

Why the Reactivation Worked

The account’s recovery did not come from publishing merely to appear active.

It came from rebuilding the relationship between the product, the brand, and the audience.

Blue Salmon combined:

  • Consistent publishing
  • Clear product benefits
  • Relatable social concepts
  • Share-oriented creative
  • Multiple content formats
  • Community and collaboration visibility
  • Ongoing performance analysis

This created a compounding effect.

Consistency restored visibility. Stronger concepts increased interaction. Shares expanded distribution. Non-follower discovery introduced the brand to new people. Profile visits and follows converted some of that attention into a growing owned audience.

The Result

In 90 days, Punched Coffee moved from nearly 11 weeks of social media inactivity to an Instagram presence generating:

  • 857K+ views
  • 45K+ interactions,
  • 19K+ profile visits,
  • 16.4% follower growth.

The clearest sign of success was that the audience became active around it.

People viewed the content repeatedly, sent posts to friends, shared them with their own communities, visited the profile, followed the account, and moved closer to the brand.

Blue Salmon has successfully rebuilt Instagram into an active brand and audience-growth channel for Punched Coffee Roastery.
